A young woman who was robbed and later raped cannot recognize the true perpetrator : the attacker has a twin brother and is therefore physically identical. But there is more. The two share DNA so, for now, the Justice cannot determine who was the author of the serious crime.
An unusual case that occurs for the first time in the Chubut city of Puerto Madryn. Now a hard work of experts is expected. And still the brothers did not testify despite the fact that the event occurred more than a week ago.
Leonel and Leandro are twins. They live in Madryn. Justice seeks to determine who is the author of a robbery and sexual abuse committed ten days ago. On August 7 at 8:20 p.m., a young woman was returning home walking down Malaspina street. At the intersection with Simón del Alcazaba street, in front of School 192, a man intercepts her, who steals her cell phone and then sexually abuses her, according to the local prosecutor's office report.
A driver saw the situation and signaled lights, so the assailant ran off. The victim made an identikit , which was spread through social networks. And the suspect was identified. A man with a dark complexion, about 30 years old, slim, 1.80 meters tall.

The woman recognized him on a photographic tour. "It's him," he told the police, before the photo of the suspect. But the surprise came later.
It was about "El Melli", who has a twin brother. They are identical. And they share the same DNA (in the case of twins, they share 50%). The case is labeled as "robbery in real competition with sexual abuse with attempted carnal access."
To be verified has a hard penalty. For now, neither of the twins declared and it is not clear what the defense strategy will be. It was not reported whether either of them has a criminal record.
