"I have seen the films, I have heard several times the mayor Sboarina and councilors Bottacin and De Berti, I have seen devastation". Thus the governor of Veneto, Luca Zaia, arrived in Verona for an inspection in the areas most affected by the hurricane that struck the city of Verona yesterday afternoon. "We have already heard from the top national leaders - he explained -, Verona must be helped in this tragedy and we must follow up on this: it is necessary to help the Veronese and for this I have already signed the state of calamity". "They cannot fail to remember - added Zaia - due to the proximity I have to the world of agriculture, what happened in Valpolicella. It is not just an important economic reality, but an international calling card: it means Amarone". In Verona "at least twenty streets are totally flooded, 600 trees collapsed, the Torricelle which is one of the symbols of the city devastated. We roll up our sleeves and see to bring home the results" concluded Zaia.

"The signing of the state of emergency is a responsibility and is done only when there are the elements to declare it. And in Verona there are all the conditions". Thus the president of Veneto, Luca Zaia, in the press point at the town hall of Verona on the 'hurricane' that yesterday shocked the city of Verona. "This tragedy - he explained - is comparable, albeit on a different scale, to the flood of 2010, to the Vaia disaster, to the high water of Venice last year, to the tornado on the Brenta". "It does not affect the whole city - he observed -, but patchy". Zaia recounted her patrol of the affected areas. "I have seen citizens with tears in their eyes - said the Venetian governor -, but already with the tools in hand to put things back in place". "And the best answer to certain controversies and to jackals are the balls that the citizens have who have started cleaning and no one has sat idle" concluded Zaia.
