(ANSA) - BERLIN, AUGUST 24 - The Berlin festival will be genderless: the awards for best actor and best actress will be abolished to replace them with best leading role and best supporting role. It is the first time this happens in a festival. "No longer separating awards in the acting profession by gender is a sign of greater gender awareness in the film industry," said festival curators Mariette Rissenbeek and CarloChatrian. The 2021 Berlin Film Festival will be held in attendance despite the covid-19 pandemic. The two curators announced it today. The Berlinale will be held this year from 11 to 21 February next with special security measures. From the first of September the registration of films to the festival begins. (HANDLE).
