With the average price level index at 100, Denmark has the primacy of the most expensive bread in the EU 27, at 151 points. Followed by Austria (133), Luxembourg and Finland (both 125). Italy is at 114.5 points. Bread is cheaper in Romania (53), Bulgaria (65) and Poland (70). In practice, Eurostat points out, loaves and cereals are priced around three times higher in the Member State where it is more expensive than where it is cheaper.
