While real estate is experiencing a thunderous recovery and the A booklets have never been so full, life insurance is still struggling to regain the appeal that was its before the health crisis. Despite the complete reopening of banks and insurance brokers in May, the French continue to invest less money there, even if this product remains the cornerstone of their heritage, with nearly 1,766 billion euros in assets. Net inflows (deposits minus withdrawals) have fallen by 6.9 billion since March, according to the French Insurance Federation (FFA). We have to go back to 2011 to see such a decline. In June, deposits started to rise again, but without the balance returning to the green (-700 million euros).
