The original plan of the MTV Video Music Awards is to be held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn in addition to numerous performances in different places in New York, however, the publication indicates that some artists will perform their performances in a Los Angeles studio.
The awards ceremony of the television network this year, aims to recognize New York, because it is one of the places most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States since it accumulates more than 237,000 cases and 23,000 deaths.
"The 2020 VMAs will take place on Sunday, August 30, and will honor New York's incredible resilience with various open-air performances in the city with limited or no audience, meeting all state and city guidelines. On August 14, J Balvin announced that he was recovering from COVID-19 through a strong message he shared on his Instagram account.
