Mask in business: 26% of French people refuse to wear one despite the obligation, according to a survey

The obligation to wear a mask in business from September 1 is far from unanimous. To the question " will you wear a mask in your company when you return from vacation?" », 26% of French people answer in the negative, even if it is compulsory, according to a survey of Qapa, platform of recruitment by interim. In detail, only 25% of respondents will wear a mask even if they are not required to do so and 37% if it is mandatory. Good to know: refusing to wear a mask may be penalized. A sanction which can go up to dismissal.

In addition, for 58% of respondents, the obligation to wear a mask for all employees is not an option in their company. Likewise, social distancing in the workplace is impossible to respect for two out of three respondents, who consider that the rule of the meter of distance between those present is not possible to apply. A majority (56%) therefore fear returning to work because of a risk of contamination.

Companies, for their part, are not yet all ready: 11% of those questioned state that no health protocol has been put in place for the start of the school year. Only 61% of respondents know the guidelines taken by their company for their return from leave.

According to the latest report from Public Health France, 234 clusters have been detected in companies (excluding health establishments) out of 892 since May.

The survey was conducted by the interim recruitment platform Qapa, between August 17 and August 21. Out of 4.5 million people surveyed by Qapa, around 810,000 responded.
