On bus confirmed the distance 1 meter. Teachers' test kits are missing (ANSA)

The fear that the growth of infections could compromise the reopening of schools, the controversy over the delay in the delivery of single-seater desks and the preparation, by some local authorities, of spaces in which to teach lessons, the criticisms of the unions to Minister Azzolina, from you sent them back to the sender, and the difficulties in arranging the transport service to take the children to school keeping the distance of at least 1 meter, prompted Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte to convene a meeting, this afternoon, with the Minister of Education and the ministers competent on the reopening, the owner of Mit Paola De Micheli and the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza. The summit was also attended by Angelo Borrelli, head of Civil Protection and the school commissioner Domenico Arcuri. Immediately after the premier began a summit with the heads of the majority delegation.

There are many knots still to be solved, starting with transport, but in the meantime today there has been a first good news: the first single-seater benches have arrived in some Roman schools; as soon as they had the funds from the Ministry of Education, some principals had ordered them thanks to the money of the Relaunch decree. And while just today serological tests for school staff have started in all Regions, in many regions there would be no kits for family doctors, who should have administered them. Furthermore, some medical unions ask that tests be carried out in schools and local health authorities but not in family doctors' clinics, both for the safety of other patients, for the costs of disposal of the material used and finally for the costs of sanitization in case any positives emerge.

Today, the expectations of the Regions who hoped for an exception to the meter of distance on means of transport were disappointed: the Technical Scientific Committee reiterated that, even with the mask, the distance of at least 1 meter between the occupants of the public transport must exist. and if you think about the use of separators, the solution will not be available shortly and cannot be applied to metro and buses. And yet the idea of differentiating school hours "cannot be the solution", explains Fulvio Bonavitacola, the coordinator of the regional councilors for transport. "The Regions - he adds - had long ago called for a national strategy in this regard".

In short, how the children will reach the schools remains a not insignificant puzzle, because if it is clear that the schools will be reopened from 1 September for the recovery of learning and from 14 for the lessons, it is not yet clear how to do it without to be able to take public transport.

In this context, the Regions also move autonomously. This is the case of Campania, which has decided to purchase thermoscanners to be assigned to schools to ensure that the temperature is measured for pupils at the entrance of the same institutes. We will start with upper secondary school.
