A little over a year after the unfortunate death of Edith González , the film "An honest feeling in the dungeon of oblivion" was released, representing the last film project in which the Mexican actress participated.

Although it had already been presented last March during the International Film Festival of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, it was until now that it was officially launched.

This film is also the debut of director Luis Bárcenas , and it was shot in 2017, when Edith was still fighting ovarian cancer.

This film portrays the life of a biologist with a special taste for arachnids, who will have to face strange events that are related to the banana mafia in a South American country.

In this project González gives life to Isabelle Batun, a successful painter who asks her daughter to investigate the identity of the portrait she makes of a stranger, and which is classified as her best work, however, this search will reveal dangerous secrets.

"Sadly it was Edith's last film. In it she has one of the leading roles. Her character is the one with whom the story begins, it is like the starting point," explained Bárcenas in the past, during an interview for the Mexican program "Ventaneando ".

"Edith was with the disease when she made the film, but she had an impressive vitality. At all times she was smiling. She wanted to work, to collaborate, to hear opinions," he added.

"She gave advice, suggestions. Working with her was a very pleasant element in a team," recalled the filmmaker, who also wrote and produced the film.

For his part, Lorenzo Lazo , the actress's widower, said that his wife's latest project represented a job to which he dedicated the same passion, the same affection and the same enthusiasm as the first day of his life.

"Obviously we are very curious to see that character, that creative capacity, of course, with a very soft heart for the testimony that this represents," he declared a few months ago.

It was in 2016 when González decided to retire from the stage to dedicate time to the treatment for ovarian cancer that was diagnosed that year, however, he had some participation in television and the making of this film.
