After 80 units for child development faced the closure and cessation of services for 40,000 children, today (Thursday) an agreement was signed between the local authorities and the Ministry of Health that will allow their activities to continue.
The 40,000 children will be joined by thousands of other children on the waiting list for treatment. Under the agreement, the Ministry of Health will allocate NIS 30 million for recognized units for child development in the next two years.
Health Minister Yuli (Yoel) Edelstein said: "The budget for child development is a long-term investment by the State of Israel. Those amazing children who are assisted by child development units will be more successful in school and life, and will become productive adult citizens who realize their abilities to the fullest.
