After a pregnancy that seems to last forever, singer Katie Perry became a mother yesterday (Wednesday).

Perry (35) gave birth to her eldest daughter Daisy Dove Bloom, a first descendant jointly for her and for her fiancée actor Orlando Bloom.

"Welcome to the world of Daisy Dove Bloom," read a Twitter tweet from UNICEF that was the first to report on the exciting event today (Thursday). "It is an honor for us to introduce the descendants of our Goodwill Ambassadors Katie Perry and Orlando Bloom," read below the photo of the couple holding the fingers of their baby daughter.

"We are overwhelmed with love and amazement at the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter," the couple wrote in a statement that part of the organization in the same tweet. "We know we are lucky, and not everyone gets a peaceful birth experience like ours. Many communities around the world still suffer from a shortage of health workers, and every 11 seconds a mother or baby usually dies in preventable circumstances.

"Since the corona, many babies 'lives are still in danger due to lack of access to water, soap, vaccines and disease-preventing medicines. As parents of a newborn baby, it breaks our hearts, we identify with these parents' struggle more than ever. We know they will be added there Make sure every pregnant woman has access to a qualified health worker and quality health care.As a celebration of the heart we know our daughter already has, we have set up a donation page to mark the birth of Daisy Dove Bloom. 

"If you support them you are supporting a safe start to a healthier and healthier life for every child. We hope your heart will blossom with generosity," the happy parent couple signed the statement.

Bloom, 43, shared the photo on his Instagram and Perry confirmed the birth to Entertainment Tonight.

Daisy Dove is the first joint offspring of the engaged couple since 2019. Bloom has a son, 9-year-old Flynn, from his marriage to model Miranda Kerr.

Perry announced her pregnancy last March in the clip for the single "Never Worn White".

Although this has not been officially confirmed, the offspring's name is probably not coincidental, and it is a tribute to the single Daisies, the debut single from Perry Smile's sixth album.
