(ANSA) - TEHRAN, AUGUST 27 - In Iran in the last 24 hours the coronavirus has claimed 117 victims, bringing the total death toll to 21,137, with 2,190 new infections bringing the total from the beginning of the pandemic to 367,796. This was announced by the spokesman of the Tehran health ministry on public TV.
"At least 3,822 patients are currently in intensive care, while those healed so far are 316,638. The tests performed all over Iran are 3 million and 138,782", said Sima Lari.
Last week, the Iranian health authorities, to contain the infections from Covid-19, advised against traveling in view of the pilgrimages to the holy places for the Shiite religious holidays scheduled in the coming days.
Many streets, however, are crowded with people going to the Caspian Sea holiday. (HANDLE).
