The key indicator continues to rise. In a new report released this Thursday, the Directorate General of Health (DGS) counted 6,111 new cases of Covid-19 contamination in 24 hours, against 5,429 on Wednesday. Twenty-two new clusters were discovered at the same time.
Authorities have also counted 32 deaths in hospital linked to the virus since Tuesday. Since the start of the epidemic, 20,070 people have died in a hospital establishment. Data in social and medico-social establishments, such as nursing homes, have not been updated since August 24. There were then 10,506 deaths.
4535 hospitalized patients
This Thursday, 4,535 people were hospitalized for an infection linked to the virus, including 381 in intensive care. Two figures down from Tuesday, when there were 4,600 people hospitalized and 410 patients treated in the services reserved for the most critical cases. The number of admissions in the last 24 or 48 hours has not been communicated.

Data on hospitalizations and deaths had not been updated on Wednesday. "Following a computer failure, mortality data and the number of hospitalized patients are not available on August 26," said Public Health France.
