Defendant in court in mid-August: Jörg L. is said to have abused his daughter
Photo: Oliver Berg / dpaA main accuser in the Bergisch Gladbach case could have planned the abuse of the girl just one day after the birth of his daughter. This assessment was expressed by the head of the investigation, who appeared as a witness before the Cologne district court. "It seems likely that he was contemplating the abuse of the daughter by then," she said.
The 43-year-old had already initiated family get-togethers with pedosexual chat partners one day after the child was born in April 2017. The aim was probably to get the girl used to them quickly.
The defendant is considered a central figure in the so-called abuse complex Bergisch Gladbach. He is said to have abused his daughter repeatedly. During house searches in autumn 2019, large amounts of material were found in his single-family home in Bergisch Gladbach that show child abuse.
Chat logs with like-minded people were also secured. These started investigations into a network of many other suspects. L. has in the meantime commented on the allegations in the process, but to the exclusion of the public.
The accused should not have helped early on in identifying chat partners
In front of the court, the head of the investigation contradicted the allegation that the accused had helped identify his chat partner early on in the investigation. "We weren't given any names or addresses," she said.
Another investigator, who also testified, drew the picture of a notorious consumer of abuse pictures and videos. According to various chats that have been evaluated, he has been dealing with it for around 20 years.
The intensity has increased over the years. In the time before the arrest in October 2019, the 43-year-old had spent a lot of time in pedosexual chat groups: "He was very interested in writing to people who themselves abused children," said the investigator.
