When parents share similar values in their outlook on life, it can make it easier to raise children. Duchess Meghan spoke about such values in a conversation with US women's rights activist Gloria Steinem - and expressed herself proudly of her husband, Prince Harry.

Because the 35-year-old describes himself as a feminist, said the Duchess of Sussex. When you look at her son Archie, think of "what a beautiful role model he gets by growing up with a father who takes this part of his self-identification so naturally."

Harry identifies with "that you don't have to be ashamed of standing up for fundamental human rights for everyone - and that includes women, of course."

Prince Harry had already publicly known himself as a great supporter of the women's movement: last year when he visited a British aid organization for women. "I am a feminist," according to participants, he is said to have said during a discussion in the facility "Tomorrow's Women Wirral".

Steinem: "If you don't choose, you don't exist"

Duchess Meghan has repeatedly campaigned publicly for different topics in the past. Last week, at an online meeting, she encouraged women to cast their votes in the US presidential election in November.

Participation in the meeting had brought her in advance, however, the accusation of a number of Brits of interfering in politics as a royal - which is not common.

In the conversation with Steinem, however, she again indirectly called on women to vote. Steinem said, "If you don't vote, you don't exist. I mean, it's the only place we're all the same, the voting booth." Meghan nodded in agreement.

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan broke away from the British royal family in March and want to be financially independent. After working in Canada and the US metropolis Los Angeles, the couple now live with Archie in the Californian coastal city of Santa Barbara.
