The Minister of National Education, Nicolás Trotta, explained this Thursday his rejection of the protocol presented by the City so that 6,500 Buenos Aires students regain the link with the school in "digital spaces", within the framework of social, preventive and mandatory isolation due to the coronavirus .

Without euphemisms, Trotta assured that the proposal has "many inconsistencies" and clarified that it is not a "political issue", but is related to the circulation of Covid-19 in the district.

" It is a fallacious argument to say that we have to take these children to school , because we do not solve it that way and less in the context of vulnerability in which they are. They have to take the State, to school, to homes" , asserted the national minister.

In dialogue with FM Futurock , the official added: "The central point is that the conditions in the City of Buenos Aires are not in place to seek a path that involves returning to schools. They are not given by the circulation of Covid 19. Yesterday (by Wednesday) we had more than 1,500 registered infections ".

Still no date. The classrooms will remain closed.

After the Buenos Aires minister, Soledad Acuña, insisted on the need to return to the classrooms and the adaptation of the protocol, Trotta spoke of "the inconsistencies" that he found in the Buenos Aires plan. "The steps that have to be taken to return to the classroom, which were agreed by the 23 provinces and the City itself in the Federal Council, establish that the first requirement is a null or very low circulation of Covid."

Along these lines, he expanded: "The protocol that was presented, in addition to not complying with this central point, has many inconsistencies."

The official remarked that " of the 33 planned actions, the City Government meets ten . There are eight that do not apply and there are 15 that have not been complied with, where we ask for additional information or rectification."

As an example, the minister listed that the protocol "does not identify" the risk group and those with special needs , "does not confirm intersectoral articulation" with other areas of the Government and "it is not clear the staggering of transportation schedules" of the students to avoid rush hour.

Finally, Trotta clarified that it is not a political issue. "If this proposal had been made by Kicillof so that they return to La Matanza, Lomas de Zamora, Vicente López or San Fernando, we would have opposed it as well."

Soledad Acuña gave a press conference to explain the situation in the City.

This same Thursday, Minister Acuña said she was willing to adapt the protocol for returning to the classroom and affirmed that there is no epidemiological reason that justifies the rejection of the Nation.

"Every day that passes is a day where we lose an opportunity to bring them closer to school and they lose an opportunity to learn," said the Buenos Aires official.
