The Ministry of Health of the Nation reported this Saturday that there were 82 deaths from the coronavirus and that 9,230 new cases were detected .
"Since the last report issued, 48 new deaths were reported," they indicated. Those deaths are in addition to the 34 that were reported earlier.
Thus, the total of those killed by Covid-19 amounted to 8,353, while the number of people who were infected since last March 3, when the first case was detected, rose to 401,239.
"We continue to have 18 provinces with extended community transmission and we have not been able to define that transmission has been controlled, which means that none of the jurisdictions that have entered this situation in recent weeks can be withdrawn from community transmission," explained the Secretary of Access to Health, Carla Vizzotti.
In addition, Vizzotti assured that "a month and a half ago, 7% of the cases were from the provinces and now it has increased five times and is 37%, that is why the problem is not only the AMBA", as explained yesterday by the President Alberto Fernández after meeting with the Minister of Health Ginés González García, the Buenos Aires governor Axel Kiciloff and the Buenos Aires head of government Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, and the rest of the governors.
"Now we have this challenge of taking actions to reduce the transmission of the virus, we have no cure or treatment, the world has shown that physical distance and decreased circulation of people is what allows controlling viral transmission," explained Vizzotti.
To date, the total number of discharges is 287,220 people, representing 73.2% of confirmed cases, while the number of cases discarded is 676,147 (by laboratory and by clinical / epidemiological criteria).
