About half a year after Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan withdrew from their royal obligations, they have now signed a multi-year contract with Netflix.

The pair will produce children's shows and nature documentaries, among other things, the streaming service said.

"We will focus on creating content that informs, but also gives hope," shared Harry and Meghan.

"As young parents, it is also important for us to develop inspiring family programs."

The two now live in California with their one-year-old son Archie.

It is not known what amount Harry and Meghan agreed with Netflix.

Several projects are already in development, including a nature documentary format and a series that revolves around inspiring women.

Harry had previously worked closely with the filmmakers of the Paralympics documentary "Rising Phoenix", in which he also appeared himself.

According to the New York Times, which first reported on the deal, the couple could also be seen in front of the camera in their documentaries in the future.

Meghan, who played a leading role in the series "Suits" before her wedding, does not want to work as an actress again.

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan broke away from the British royal family in March and want to be financially independent.

After working in Canada and in the US metropolis Los Angeles, the family now lives in Santa Barbara.
