The number of tests performed at midnight so far stands at 22,945 tests, with 7 percent of them being positive, while yesterday 34,857 tests were performed, of which the percentage of positive tests stands at 9.6%.

848 corona patients are currently hospitalized in the hospitals, of whom 417 are in critical condition and 118 of them are respirators.

The number of patients in fair condition is 138. The number of deaths continues to rise, with nine people dying today.

The number of victims since the beginning of the plague continues to approach 1,000 and stands at 985 people.

Corona Commissioner Prof. Roni Gamzo held a press briefing earlier tonight, following the Corona Cabinet's decision to close 30 cities, towns and neighborhoods across the country, home to some 600,000 Israelis, due to the morbidity of these places.

"We have just finished the cabinet meeting, a six-hour meeting in which we discussed the State of Israel's dealing with the disease situation," Gamzo began.

Prof. Gamzo commented on the increase in morbidity in Arab society: "I think Arab society needs to fully understand that indifference and contempt should be stopped completely.

"I recommended to the Israeli government and the Corona Cabinet that a framework of closure be imposed on a number of red cities, which includes restricting traffic within the city, as well as closing the education and trade system," the commissioner added.

Meanwhile, several other centers have been added to the Ministry of Health's "red" list of cities - including Bnei Brak, Taibeh, Jaljulia, Elad, Arara and a number of neighborhoods in Jerusalem (including the Muslim Quarter, the Armenian Quarter, the Jewish Quarter, Shuafat and Issawiya).

According to the "traffic light model", many restrictions will be imposed on those cities.
