A number of new contaminations which remains high.
In its daily report released this Thursday evening, the Directorate General of Health (DGS) reports 7,157 new Covid-19 contaminations in France over the last 24 hours, against nearly 7,000 the day before and 20 new deaths.
France has thus reached 20,192 deaths linked to the coronavirus in hospitals.
In addition, there are 10,514 deaths in medico-social establishments (including nursing homes), a figure updated every Tuesday.
In total, the country has recorded 30,706 deaths from the virus since March.
464 patients in intensive care
Since the end of August, the number of new contaminations worries the health authorities.
The positivity rate was 4.4% between August 25 and 31, according to the DGS.
1,587 clusters are under investigation, specifies the institution, of which 45 have been discovered in the last 24 hours.
4,643 people have also been hospitalized to date as a result of a Covid-19 infection, including 307 new admissions since Wednesday.
As for resuscitation, 464 patients are counted, 55 more than the day before.
