Closure in the Red Cities:

Corona Commissioner Prof. Roni Gamzo is holding a press briefing tonight (Thursday) following the Corona Cabinet's earlier decision to impose a closure on 30 cities, towns and neighborhoods across the country, where some 600,000 Israelis live, due to the morbidity of these places.

At an earlier cabinet hearing, police clarified that they would be able to enforce a full closure in only eight "bright red" cities, which would prohibit entry and exit from the settlement, restrict exit from home up to 500 meters, close non-essential businesses and restrict public transportation.

In addition, the education system will not operate other than kindergartens and special education.

In the other red cities, a night closure will be imposed, and educational and business institutions will also work in the same format as in bright red cities.

3,150 new patients, the percentage of positive tests - 9.6%

This morning, the Ministry of Health announced that 3,150 people were diagnosed with corona virus yesterday.

Yesterday, 34,324 tests were performed, of which the percentage of positive tests is 9.6%.

Meanwhile, several other centers have been added to the Ministry of Health's "red" list of cities - including Bnei Brak, Taibeh, Jaljulia, Elad, Arara and a number of neighborhoods in Jerusalem (including the Muslim Quarter, the Armenian Quarter, the Jewish Quarter, Shuafat and Issawiya).

According to the "traffic light model", many restrictions will be imposed on those cities.

The data presented by Gamzo show that 28% of the morbidity in Israel is in Arab society and 22% in ultra-Orthodox society.

"The consistent refusal to cooperate on the part of some red cities could lead to a very serious outbreak of morbidity. A significant increase in morbidity would require us to take drastic measures at the national level as well. In the routine of life even outside the red cities, "Gamzo warned.
