Productions from Germany are catching up internationally. The money for this also comes from the USA. Streaming is seen by creative people as a revolution - and ARD and ZDF have to be careful not to lose touch.

Big Window Production is the name of the company that only moved in here in April.

The producer and author Jörg Winger founded it because he believes that the German television industry is still far from exploiting its potential on the world market well enough.

Business is currently globalizing, he says.

"The television industry is growing together in a similar way to the auto industry 30 years ago. Nowadays, no one would come up with the idea of founding a car company that builds vehicles that only drive on German roads."

Winger, 50, was one of the first to come up with the idea that high-quality German series could also have international success.

Six years ago, together with his wife, the American author Anna Winger, he developed "Deutschland 83", a spy series about the machinations of the GDR secret service and the creeping collapse of the country.

He has just finished the third season, "Deutschland 89".

It is set in the year the Berlin Wall came down and can be seen in more than 120 countries, in Germany from September 25th on Amazon Prime.
