(ANSA) - VENICE, 05 SEPT - Michela Panichi, with the short story 'Medusa', is the winner of the 25th edition of the Premio Campiello Giovani, the competition reserved for young people between 15 and 22 years old organized by the Il Campiello-Confindustria Veneto Foundation .
"I dedicate it to my grandmother who was unable to come here because when I came home from school I always learned something from her.
She also taught me Latin" Panichi, 20, from Naples, told ANSA in the meeting this morning. at PalazzoFranchetti in Venice just a few hours after the Campiello Prize award ceremony, tonight in Piazza San Marco.
Chosen from among the five short stories that made it to the final, by the Jury of Literature, chaired by Paolo Mieli, 'Meduse' "tells about family relationships and how the way you see your parents changes when you mature," Panichi explained.
According to the story written by Panichi, 'Meduse' "delves into the psychological geometries of the relationship between two brothers - a boy and a teenager - and a mother who finds herself pregnant with a new life, once again without a father present.
The event upsets, redefines and in the end it rearranges the relations between different personalities in a new balance, which the young author knows how to outline with finesse, albeit with some naivety in the use of conventional images and themes "says the jury's motivation.
