Coronavirus in Argentina: 117 deaths and 9,924 new positive cases reported

The Ministry of Health of the Nation reported this Saturday

117 new deaths and another 9,924 positive cases

of coronavirus throughout the country.

This is an unprecedented number of infections for a Saturday, when the figures tend to decrease due to the lesser amount of data.


In its morning report, the health portfolio had reported the death of 62 people (38 men, 23 women and one reported without gender), of which 42 resided in the Province of Buenos Aires, six in the City of Buenos Aires, three in Entre Ríos and Santa Fe, two in Río Negro and one in Tucumán, Salta, Chaco, Córdoba, Neuquén and Tierra del Fuego.


The mortality rate is 212 people per million inhabitants and the fatality rate for confirmed cases remains at 2.1%.


According to official information, on Friday 24,486 tests were carried out and 1,374,524 diagnostic tests for this disease were carried out since the beginning of the outbreak, which is equivalent to 30,291.4 samples per million inhabitants.

The index that measures the number of positives on tests performed

was located at 49.2%,

that is, 1 out of every 2 analyzes ended up detecting the virus.

"A large group went through Mendoza to leave supplies, another is in Jujuy with human resources, and another team went to Santa Cruz. But we also continue in contact with Mendoza, with Tucumán and each of the provinces that have been implementing control measures" , he detailed.


"When the cases begin to increase, the actions that are taken will only be seen in weeks, so if you take care of yourself and see more cases daily you think it makes no sense, but it is not, that will be seen in the next few days ", he concluded.
