(ANSA) - ROME, SEPTEMBER 05 - British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has criticized the environmentalists of Extinction Rebellion who last night in London blocked access to the presses of newspapers of the publishing group of Rupert Murdoch and not only.
"It's totally unacceptable," Johnson wrote on his social media profiles. "A free press is vital to induce government and institutions to account for fundamental issues for our future, including the fight against climate change," said the British prime minister according to the Daily Telegraph newspaper which is one of the newspapers printed in the center affected by the protest of the activists. "Restricting people's access to the news in this way is totally unacceptable," he wrote. For Interior Minister PritiPatel, the demonstration was an "attack on democracy".
"This morning people across the country were prevented from reading their newspaper due to the actions of Extinction Rebellion," he said. (HANDLE).
