The prefectures collected the funds received from the municipalities and carried out inspections to verify that the buildings were up to standard.

The Minister of the Interior, Luciana Lamorgese, has set up a working group on the subject, with the aim of organizing itself in view of the administrative offices of 2021, when the aim is to considerably increase the extra-school seats.

Special seats in hospitals to allow voting for those in quarantine for Covid or hospitalized in the next consultations on 20 and 21 September.

It is one of the innovations introduced, explains the Interior Ministry, "in order to ensure the full exercise of civil and political rights and at the same time the maximum health safety conditions".


The task of collecting the vote is therefore entrusted to the hospital sections through the special seats that go to the homes of the voters.

In order to increase the number of hospital sections and broaden the number of municipalities in which to establish them, the decree law 103 of 2020 also provides for their establishment in health facilities with at least 100 beds, derogating from the ordinary limit of 200.
