VIDEO. Annie Cordy: these Parisians sing "Tata Yoyo" to pay tribute to her

At 92, Belgian singer and actress Annie Cordy has passed away. For a whole generation, she was "Tata Yoyo" or "La Bonne du Coeur".


“Tata Yoyo”, “Chaud Cacao”, Annie Cordy's greatest hits are being sung at the top of their lungs.

After a career between music hall, funny songs and cinema, driven by the desire to have fun above all, the one who is also known as "La Bonne du Curé" died at the age of 92.

Upon the announcement of his death, several Parisians paid tribute to him by singing his hits.

“It reminds me of the cabaret, a wonderful and super-funny woman,” Skander says after reciting the chorus to “Cho Ka Ka O”.

A friend of mine was an Annie Cordy super fan, he's crying all the tears in his body now ”.

“She was both very popular, and at the same time, she's someone who had several lives, who was a reviewer at the Lido, remembers Edouard, and then who did a lot [of things] , who was an actress, who worked for real filmmakers.

I think she was indeed a real artist.

Annie Cordy has had success in the movies.

After making her debut with Sacha Guitry ("Si Versailles m'ait conté", 1953), she broadened and moved her audience with dramatic roles in "The Passenger of the Rain" by René Clément, "Le Chat" (Pierre Granier- Deferre), alongside Jean Gabin and Simone Signoret, or “La Rupture” (Claude Chabrol).
