Seven other French departments have been classified as high-risk coronavirus 'red zones', bringing the number of areas where 'strengthened measures' can be taken to contain the pandemic to 28.
A special decree was published in the Official Gazette, with 'immediate' effect. These are the North, Bas-Rhin, Seine-Maritime and Côte-d'Or departments, four departments that include large cities such as Lille, Rouen, Le Havre, Strasbourg and Dijon , plus two departments of Corsica (Corsica-Sud and Haute-Corse) and the island of Reunion, in the Indian Ocean.
