Stiftung Warentest * tested 18 different hair products.
Most of them achieved the grade “good” in the test.
The Stiftung Warentest also took a closer look at the eco-balance of the hair products.
Kassel - The
Stiftung Warentest
has in a
test
examines various products, consumers to wash their
hair
use.
In the
test
in addition to the classic liquid shampoo were also solid shampoos and soaps that extra for the
hair
are determined.
The
Stiftung Warentest
has tested the products as always tested for various properties.
This time
the ecological balance was also taken into account
during the
test
.
Stiftung Warentest: Various hair products tested
Eight liquid shampoos were
among the 18 products
tested
by
Stiftung Warentest
.
The other
hair
products
were soaps or solid shampoos.
A total of 14 pieces managed
to get the grade “good”
in the
test
.
Only one product in the
test
for
hair
was rated as sufficient.
Stiftung Warentest: Test examined various criteria - the hair was analyzed by professionals after use
In the
test
by
Stiftung Warentest
, different criteria were again included in the overall assessment.
The care properties for the
hair
made up the largest part of the test
.
Here,
after rinsing the
hair
, the experts from
Stiftung Warentest
evaluate
its properties - such as its detangibility, grip or volume.
This category made up 50 percent of the overall rating of the respective product.
During the
test
, the products were anonymized so that the testers could not see which product they were currently testing.
Stiftung Warentest: The applicability was also rated in the test
As a further category, the people in the
test
by
Stiftung Warentest rated
the applicability of the products for washing
hair
.
This judgment made a full 30 percent of the overall rating.
The remaining 20 percent of the overall rating was formed by evaluating the packaging, the advertisements and the declaration on the product itself.
In addition, it was examined whether the critical fragrance
Lilial is contained
in the products.
The
ecological balance of
the products was
also examined
by
Stiftung Warentest
, separately from the actual
test
.
Stiftung Warentest: That was the front runner in the test for the hair
In the
test
by
Stiftung Warentest
, all liquid shampoos were given an overall rating of good.
However, some of the liquid
hair
care products have
also been found to contain substances that are not necessarily recommended.
Preservatives were only found in the liquid products.
Even substances that are difficult to biodegrade could only be found in liquid shampoos.
The front runner among the liquid products comes from the discounter Lidl.
The vitamin shampoo for normal hair achieved a rating of 1.9.
This makes it the only product in the
test
that managed to get a 1 before the decimal point in the overall rating.
Stiftung Warentest: In the test, when it comes to using one of the solid products for the hair, it comes out on top
In contrast, when it comes to use, one of the solid shampoos in the
test is
at the top.
The testers from
Stiftung Warentest
rated the use of “Honey I washed my hair honey sweet” from
Lush
with a grade of 1.5.
In terms of packaging, too, the product achieved a “very good” rating.
However, the most expensive product for
hair
at eleven euros
was the only one to lose in the
test
for the critical fragrance Lilial.
Here it was the only product that only scored “sufficient”.
The Consumer
Safety
Committee of the
European Union
classifies the use of Lilial in cosmetic products as unsafe.

Stiftung Warentest: Test unmasked a sham package among the products for the hair
Another outlier in the
test
by
Stiftung Warentest
is the "Natur All Hair Types" hair soap from
Savion
.
In the declaration and advertising claims category, the product, which costs just 15 cents per hair wash, only achieved a poor rating of 5.0.
The provider advertised, among other things, that his product was free from fragrances, but the experts from
Stiftung Warentest were
able to prove several in exactly this product.
In addition, the soap's rating is lowered due to the lack of advice to use acidic rinse.
When using hair soap, the use of such a rinse is expressly recommended.
This rinse of water and vinegar helps against the so-called "lime soap", which is created due to the lime content in the water.
Stiftung Warentest: In the test, all soaps in the packaging category were great
In the category of packaging in were able to
test
by
Stiftung Warentest
all soaps for the
hair
are determined to achieve a very good rating.
In contrast, the experts at
Stiftung Warentest
became aware of a sham packaging for a solid shampoo from Foamie.
This earned the product “Foamie - Solid Shampoo Normal Hair” a grade of 5 in the packaging category.
The soap's packaging simulated more than it actually contained.
Stiftung Warentest: The eco-balance in the test was clearly better for the soaps
When
testing
the eco-balance,
Stiftung Warentest
compared,
among other things, the environmental impact of washing
hair
with liquid and solid shampoo or soap.
During the
test,
they came
to the conclusion that both are equally harmful here.
However, the environmental impact of the liquid shampoo in terms of production and transport is many times higher than that of the solid alternative.
