On the outside, Barack and Michelle Obama look like a perfect couple.
In their relationship, the former First Lady of the USA revealed in her podcast, but there have been other moments.
"There were times when I wanted to push Barack out of the window. And I say that because you have to know that the feelings will be intense. But that doesn't mean that you give up," said the 56- Yearlings.
Even though "these phases can take a long time. They can last for years."
Obama said marriage was a struggle.
There is no magical way to a perfect relationship - it's about being honest and when you realize that you really want to be with someone, you have to make long-term appointments and commitments.
On dates for months
You "invest in someone else" and therefore you have to go on dates for months.
"A long-term relationship cannot be amortized," said Obama.
Moderator Conan O'Brien agreed with her and added that this behavior reminded him of someone who sat in front of a slot machine in Las Vegas and repeatedly pulled the lever.
Obama said that with a strong will to persevere, she managed to overcome difficult phases.
If she left after an argument, then she would have missed out on all the beauty of the relationship that exists as well.
After nearly 28 years of marriage, she says, "We have a very strong marriage."
Obama urged young people not to give up a relationship too quickly because they believed it was broken.
If you question the whole relationship with problems, then she would have had to break up with Barack again and again.
Michelle Obama had also reported marital problems in the past.
This is how she described the difficulties of getting pregnant in her 2018 memoir.
She confessed that she had also taken her husband to marriage counseling to work on the relationship.
She has two daughters with the former US President, 22-year-old Malia and 19-year-old Sasha.
In her podcast, she recently dared to tackle a taboo subject and described her mental state as "mild depression".
The reason she named the corona restrictions, but also the "ongoing racist unrest" in the USA.
