After a record of new coronavirus contaminations on Friday, with nearly 9,000 new cases observed in 24 hours, the situation remains worrying on Monday.
In the past 24 hours, 25 deaths linked to Covid-19 have been recorded in French hospitals.
A total of 30,726 people have died from a SARS-CoV-2 infection since the start of the epidemic in the country, announces the Directorate General of Health (DGS) during its daily report on Monday.
Of these deaths, 20,250 were recorded in hospitals.
The number of patients who died in social and medico-social establishments stood at 10,476.
537 patients in intensive care
This Monday, 4,907 patients are still hospitalized for an infection with the new coronavirus.
Among the patients treated, 537 are in intensive care units.
4,203 new positive diagnoses were identified on Monday, against nearly 7,000 on Sunday and around 8,500 on Friday and Saturday.
The test positivity rate in France stood at 5.1%, a figure that has risen exponentially since mid-August.
Finally, in 24 hours, 58 new outbreaks of grouped cases (clusters) were detected in France and 1,602 closed since deconfinement.
The total number of these outbreaks of contamination since May 9 is 1,807.
