In a small Italian town, several men are said to have beaten a 21-year-old to death.
This is reported by the newspapers "Il Messaggero" and "La Repubblica", among others.
The perpetrators are therefore two brothers who are enthusiastic about martial arts and their friends.
The case made headlines across the country and called for drastic punishment of the perpetrators.
The man killed was, according to reports, on Sunday night in Colleferro, southeast of Rome, with several friends in a club.
As they left the store, the later victim noticed a former classmate across the street who had gotten into an argument.
The 21-year-old intervened.
Shortly afterwards, an off-road vehicle drove up and three other men got out of it.
They started attacking those present.
Except for the 21-year-old, everyone managed to escape.
When his friends returned later, they found their friend lying in a pool of blood, it was said.
Murder investigations against four suspects
The 21-year-old apparently wanted to come to the aid of a friend during the argument.
The police arrested the four suspects in a bar.
They "still had blood on their hands," the newspaper said.
The AS Roma football club dedicated a tweet to the young man.
He is said to have dreamed of playing for the "Giallorossi" one day.
Italian newspapers printed the victim's photo on their front pages.
One newspaper wrote that the young man was killed "for his generosity".
According to a report in the Corriere de Viterbo, Italy's former interior minister Matteo Salvini demanded severe penalties if convicted.
