(ANSA) - PARIS, 07 SEPT - A long documentary on Leonardo Da Vinci and his "science of painting", the subject of a great success at the Louvre on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the Master's death, will be presented on the big screen in France and beyond 60 countries from mid-September: as announced by the Louvre Museum.

"A night at the Louvre: Leonardo da Vinci", this is the title of the feature film which for an hour and a half leads the viewer to the center of the work and life of the Renaissance genius.

In practice, it is a nocturnal visit to the exhibition, the incompany of Commissioners Vincent Delieuvin and Louis Frank, great French experts of Leonardo who have prepared the exhibition for ten years.

The two meticulously analyze and interpret each work, highlighting the "science of painting" - from the definition that the artist himself attributed to his research - and in some he saw "a divine science capable of recreating the world".

The production and distribution of this documentary, made by Pierre Hubert-Martin and translated into 30 languages, has been entrusted to Pathé Live.

Screenings for France, Switzerland and Belgium are scheduled for September 16-22, but the film will be broadcast from September 16 to the rest of the world.

Four nights of filming were needed to make the documentary shot with 6K cameras and accompanied by music by Bach, Couperin, Marin Marais or Charpentier.
