A national official, who was transferring a family to settle in the

Villa Mascardi

capture

, was detained at a checkpoint on the route carried out by the Río Negro police.

This is

Luis Pilquimán

, vice president of the National Institute of Indigenous Affairs (INAI).

The incident occurred this Sunday night, when the official was traveling aboard a truck belonging to the province of Río Negro accompanied by a family from a place near the city of Pilcaniyeu, 70 kilometers from Bariloche, until the capture of Villa Mascardi.

The vehicle was uninsured and the driver's license was expired.

The tension over the land seizure in the Mascardi Lake area by a Mapuche group that has been carrying out attacks and intimidating residents in the area since 2017, escalated in the last hours to a strong cross between the province of Río Negro and the Minister of National Security, Sabina Frederic.
