Chef Jamie Oliver prepares sourdough pancakes (INSTGRAM)

During the closure in the British Kingdom, chef Jamie Oliver revealed quite a few simple recipes on his Instagram account so that people can try them for themselves at home.

Among other things, he showed how using only five ingredients, including remnants of light acid, he makes stimulating pancakes and crackers.

Oliver says in a video he uploaded to Instagram: "A lot of people ask me for sourdough recipes, so here are the sourdough pancakes and crackers, which can be made with leftovers, which we usually throw in the trash."

Jamie begins the video by adding the remnants of the sourdough mixture (200 grams) to a bowl with two eggs, 100 grams of whole wheat flour and 100 ml of milk (about half a cup) before he starts mixing. He then adds a little salt and mixes. Once more before pouring a tablespoon full of batter into a hot pan with oil and fry on both sides for a minute to two minutes. To serve the pancakes he adds fruit and yogurt to the dish - but of course you can also use maple or any other topping.

In the second stage he shows how he makes crackers from the same leftovers as well.

He puts in a bowl 75 grams of light acid and mixes with one teaspoon of honey.

He adds 100 grams of whole wheat flour to the mixture, mixes and adds a little water.

Next he wraps the bowl with a kitchen towel and lets the mixture sit for 20 minutes.

He turns the mixture on a flat surface with a little flour, and cuts into small pieces of crackers with a knife.

He puts the pieces on baking paper, sprinkles some sesame seeds and puts in the oven at 200 degrees for 5 minutes.

He turns the crackers over and bakes another 8 to 10 minutes before serving them with cheese.

What exactly is a leaven that light you ask?

Well it's just the dough from which light bread is made.

The leaven is actually a type of natural wild yeast, which causes fermentation and then swelling of the dough.

Unlike industrial yeasts, which taste uniform and flat, the various sourdoughs help to open up different flavors in bread.

There is a big difference between flour in which industrial yeast is added, and flour in which leaven is mixed with natural bacterial populations.

In order to make light acid, mix an equal amount of water and flour - and follow the instructions.
