His pockmarked face, covered with nasty scars, makes him look sinister.
In
Dying can wait
(
No Time To Die

Eons Productions has just unveiled an unprecedented zakouski-shaped video, enough time for fans to wait before the final feast on November 11.
So who is Safin?
First of all, he is embodied by the excellent Rami Malek, the very one who had slipped brilliantly into the skin of Freddie Mercury in the biopic
Bohemian Rhapsody
signed Bryan Singer (2018), or who played the returned pharaoh from the dead in the
A Night at the Museum
trilogy
,
by Ben Stiller.
In the two trailers already posted online, it was first discovered hidden.
A white mask of Japanese origin (probably a mask from the traditional Noh theater) and which we later find broken in a box, like a dire omen ...
Safin's white mask is reminiscent of the more traditional ones found in the Noh theater in Japan.

In the last new video presenting the character further, Rami Malek specifies:
“I wanted to make Safin a confusing character.
He thinks he's a hero.
He is a formidable adversary to which Bond must adapt. ”
The video delivers an unprecedented dialogue between Léa Seydoux (Madeleine Swann) and Safin which reveals a little more the implications of the villain facing 007.
"I am ready to kill the person you love the most"
, declares the odious character.
And Madeleine Swann replied:
"I have already lost all those I have ever loved ...
"
The director of the film, Cary Fukunaga, also has a word about this most intriguing adversary:
“What he wants and what he is ready to do make him a terrifying character.
Not just for Bond but for everyone.
"
Safin wears a Japanese costume with a Mandarin collar reminiscent of James Bond's first villain in the cinema: the sinister Doctor No. Universal / Eons productions.
So, once Safin reappears with a Japanese costume with a Mandarin collar reminiscent of Doctor No's, he compares himself squarely to James Bond:
“We both eradicate people to make the world a better place.
But me, I try to be more meticulous. "
Safin appears for the first time in an immaculate setting, a snow-capped steppe with a Noh theater mask ... and a most menacing machine gun.

Finally the video reveals an exchange of reply between James Bond and Safin which is worth its weight in wasabi.
“I made you superfluous!”
Laughs Safin.
And Bond replied:
"Not as long as there are people like you!"
This promises a duel at the top.
