Today in twelve regions plus the province of Trento 5.6 million students

(out of a total of 8.3) return to hear the sound of the bell that will mark the beginning of the most difficult school year because it is a test bed for the coronavirus emergency.

Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte is well aware of this and bluntly, in a live Facebook report, acknowledged that "there will be difficulties, inconveniences, especially at the beginning".

The official inauguration ceremony of the new year will be held in Vo ',

in the presence of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, and the Minister of Education, Lucia Azzolina.

'The students have a great desire to go back to class and regain sociality.

This will be a complex year, we know, but we have worked hard and built a prevention strategy that will work if everyone does their part responsibly.

Being in Vò is an important sign for a territory that has suffered but has never abandoned its students.

It will be a beautiful day. ”

So Azzolina, this morning, to Unomattina, wishing happy school year to students.

"Today is an important day for the national community, to which we look with confidence and enthusiasm: of

course, we do not hide it there are critical issues but the monitoring is constant and tonight we will already make an initial assessment. But I want to say that we are never like this year. investing a lot in the school ".

So premier Giuseppe Cont

and at the end of the conference he took part in at the Italian embassy to the Holy See.

"The lack of a real school, for these long six months, has highlighted even more its importance for society. And that is why today I strongly want to say: enough with the uncertainties. Keep schools open every day and without criticality it must be a priority for everyone, because being in the classroom means sharing, psychological and social growth. From here the country starts again and together with the hopes of Italy. Good school to all! ".

The

president of the Senate Elisabetta Alberti Casellati

says

this

in a video message that she posted on her social channels with a reflection on the reopening of the school.

"Today is an important and long-awaited day. Schools are starting to welcome their students again who had not been able to return since the beginning of the health emergency".

This was stated by

the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Roberto Fico

, on the occasion of the start of the new school year.

"Restarting from school means restarting our whole country", he adds.

"The school must be at the center of the political agenda. The future of the country depends on its vitality, on its quality. Only in this way could we restore its value to school education: that of an indispensable tool for building a better and more cohesive society ", underlines the Speaker of the House.

First day of school also for the son of Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte,

Niccolò, who arrived this morning at the Belli-Col di Lana middle school, in the Prati district, where he attends the third grade.

The boys were welcomed by the head teacher.

The prime minister, who was expected by cameras and journalists at the entrance to the institute, was not seen.

A banner with the words "Voice to the students" in black and red appeared this morning, before the start of classes, also in front of one of the side entrances of the Belli-Col Di Lana middle school, attended by the son of Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, where today the lessons for the third grades resumed.

Very few guys behind the banner, who let themselves be taken by the photographers and soon after they removed the sign.

"I think that President Conte is a figure who must remain a little in the background, he goes to protect his son. This is neither better nor worse: unfortunately there are roles in which parenting with freedom cannot be exercised. with which you would like ".

Thus the dean of the Roman comprehensive Belli Col di Lana Institute, Carla Costetti, where the son of Prime Minister Conte attends the eighth grade, to journalists.

"If he had come, I would have said good morning," said the head teacher, answering questions from reporters.

CODOGNO

-At eight o'clock this morning the approximately 4000 students of Codogno, from those who attend primary school to those of high school, such as the Tosi Agricultural Technical Institute, returned to their desks.

The schools in the municipality where the first case of Coronavirus in Italy was ascertained were closed starting from last February 22, the day after the assessment of the first Coronavirus case in Italy.

And the same happened for the other nine municipalities which were then isolated in the red zone.

At the sound of the bell that kicks off the lessons the mayor Francesco Passerini accompanied by the councilors for Education and Public Works who in recent months, together with the head teacher of the Comprehensive Institute (kindergarten, primary and lower secondary school) , have organized the reopening in compliance with the anti-Covid rules, will tour some schools to wish the students a "good start" because "it will be a delicate and complicated year".

For the occasion, the mayor will donate 5,000 surgical masks to the Ognissanti middle school.

Speaking of

masks, biodegradable ones should soon arrive,

"in order to preserve the environment. A Lombard company that produces them has already been contacted and we are awaiting an estimate".

NEMBRO -

"Today we live a great emotion, which I read, beyond the masks, in the eyes of the children who entered the gates. The reopening of the schools is the clearest sign of the restart in our so tormented territory".

This is the comment of Claudio Cancelli, mayor of Nembro, who is following the reopening of the school this morning.

"The whole community - adds the mayor - has contributed to this restart, which is the most evident sign of the return to normality. The schools, but also the parents and many volunteers have helped, in recent days, for this restart. Because everyone we are enthusiastic and excited about it ".

ROME -

For the first day of school, the boys of the Lazio Middle Students Network mobilized by organizing flash mobs in some schools in Rome and throughout Lazio.

"For several months now - they explain - we have been living in a situation of absolute uncertainty and precariousness: unclear information, insufficient desks and staff and public transport that will not guarantee safety".

The flash mobs ask to listen to the proposals launched by the Lazio Student Network with an appeal in recent weeks.

The mobilization was also attended by female students and students whose return was postponed by municipal ordinances or by the Councils of the Institute: "it is not enough to postpone the date of reopening of the schools, a structural investment in the school is needed to guarantee everyone the right to study in safety ", say the boys.

A few gatherings and a bit of traffic for the first day of school at the 'Giacomo Leopardi' of Rome.

The public comprehensive institute 'Parco della Vittoria', located inside the natural park of Monte Mario, along the Via Trionfale, includes both a municipal nursery and a primary school: for the two schools the entrances have been staggered and divided ;

the kindergarten, in particular, must take advantage of a back gate.

According to school rules, children must be accompanied by a parent to the door of the classroom, but without being able to enter the classroom;

before entry, the temperature of children and adults is measured, and the data is recorded on a sheet which must then be signed.

This, explains the mother of a child in the nursery, combined with the doubts of the staff on the correct procedures to be implemented, created gatherings of parents at the entrance.

The problem raised by the teachers, on the other hand, is more of a didactic nature: the obligation of distancing and of masks deprives teachers of the possibility of hugging and physically touching children, as well as showing them facial expressions, which, especially with the most small, can create difficulties.

Finally,

inconvenience to traffic:

the narrow asphalted road that goes up from the Trionfale to the school complex in the park was banned from traffic by the traffic police from 8 to 8.30 to avoid blockages between those who go up and down, and so it will be in the next days.

This created congestion in the neighboring streets, where parents had to leave their cars to accompany their children on foot along the slope.

MILAN -

'Welcome back!

(..but how?').

"We are back (... but how?)".

This is what we read on the banners hanging in front of numerous high schools in Milan, from Agnesi to Manzoni, from Berchet to Tito Livio, from Vittorio Veneto to Vittorini, signed by the school collectives or by Rsm, the student network of Milan. they protest against the rules decided by the government for the reopening of schools that prohibit social moments such as intermission and, for this reason, they have also called a demonstration to be held on 25 September.

TURIN

- "Measured fever, signed self-certification".

Even at the home of the governor of Piedmont, Alberto Cirio, we prepare for the beginning of the school year by respecting the regional ordinance which requires families to certify the temperature of their children and schools to check it.

"At Cirio's home we are getting ready to go to school"

, writes the regional president on his Facebook profile, commenting on the photo in which he measures his daughter's temperature.

The regional ordinance has aroused numerous controversies in recent days, but schools have adapted to the provisions.

At the moment, some queues of students are reported at the entrance of some institutes, but in general there have been no particular problems. Many schools have equipped themselves with thermoscanners, differentiating the entrances to avoid crowds.

GENOA -

"Everything is school: everything makes you grow up. The teaching did not stop in recent months, the rest unfortunately yes. Take back that time and carefully observe all the health rules that are foreseen: we do not want to see empty benches anymore!" .

So the mayor of Genoa Marco Bucci wishes, from his social pages.

a good start to school for Genoese students, teachers and school staff.

"Dear kids - Bucci writes -, the emotion you are about to experience returning to school after so many months will be unique! A particular moment of your life in which you will find friends, classmates and teachers. Enjoy this important day, come back to experience school and appreciate it. every moment: from the journey from home in the morning, to the moment you return to tell your parents what happened ".

The mayor concludes with a thank you "for the commitment and dedication" to "teachers and professors and the staff of the schools of Genoa"

NORCIA -

The new school year in times of Covid in Norcia began with a double inauguration: that of the temporary high school "De Gasperi-Battaglia" and the definitive kindergarten.

Two new complexes that allow all pupils to attend classes face to face.

The structure of the Superiors also gives, after the earthquake of 2026, to give a certain location to the students, many of whom in recent years have been forced to take lessons first in tents and then in containers.
