Two Kinds of Men: Johnny's New Adventures in America

2020-09-15T15:01:50.171Z

Warner will release a blues track from 2014 on October 9th. A box set including two films - including one on his last road trip - and a live double album recorded in New York will follow on October 23.

Since the singer's death in December 2017, the two record companies that produced his albums have been competing in invention as the Christmas holidays approach.

Last year, Warner Music marketed the Vieilles Canailles live while Universal Music offered symphonic re-readings of some of its songs.

In this fall 2020, we do not yet know the content of the project that is preparing the historic record company of Johnny, which has its recordings made between 1960 and 2005.

On the other hand, Warner, with whom Johnny finished his recording career, published Monday, September 14 a statement relayed in the wake by Laeticia Hallyday herself.

Johnny Hallyday fantasized about an America which until the end was his main source of inspiration

Entitled

Johnny: his American dream

, this new box set contains the American epic led by Johnny in 2014. Accompanied by Philippe Maneuver, who drew a story from it, the singer performed for a fortnight in the United States and Canada.

It was the first time in his long career that the artist gave so many concerts on the continent which saw the birth of his heroes Elvis, Brando and other James Dean.

"Johnny Hallyday fantasized about an America which until the end was his main source of inspiration"

explains Maneuver.

A concert at the Beacon Theater

Available in two DVDs and three CDs, this road trip contains a completely new song.

Engraved during the sessions of the album

Rester Vivant

, under the leadership of Don Was,

Deux kinds hommes

is a certified twelve bar blues composed by Daran and written by Lebert.

The set will also include a road movie directed by François Goetghebeur dedicated to the last motorcycle ride made by the rocker and his friends in 2016, as well as its soundtrack.

But the piece de resistance is a concert recorded in the mythical Beacon Theater in New York, room in which the Stones had performed in front of Martin Scorsese's cameras a few years before.

A medium-length film allows you to rediscover the atmosphere of the tour, through images of Johnny in the privacy of his private jet.

Enough to satisfy the many fans of the idol, inconsolable since his disappearance.
