The police have now arrested a suspect.
The police said he was suspected of having administered narcotics to the young people at the private party in the Winterhude district or left them for immediate use and thereby carelessly caused their death.
The public prosecutor's office confirmed that the 18-year-old accused should appear before a judge.
Forensic doctors should clarify what exactly the girl died of last Sunday night.
The result of the autopsy and the toxicological examination are not yet available, said a spokeswoman for the public prosecutor's office.
According to initial findings, the young person had consumed alcohol and ecstasy and then collapsed, the police said on Sunday.
The emergency doctor who was called could no longer resuscitate the 16-year-old.
She died on the spot.
