Large parts of California are on fire - and the US President can think of nothing better than to ask why forests are not on fire around the world.
In a telephone interview with Fox News, he said:
Donald Trump, US President
"There are forests all over the world! There are no fires like in California. In Europe they have forest cities! Look at Austria, in so many countries! They live in forests. In forest cities! You don't have fires like here - and they have more explosive trees! "
As expected, this triggers mockery on the internet.
The deputy mayor of the Austrian capital Vienna also felt addressed - and responded to the US president with a video from her "Waldstadt".
Birgit Hebein, Deputy Mayor of Vienna
"Mister Trump, this is Vienna speaking. Look, THAT is a tree. You can sit in its shade, and that is a very simple solution to deal with climate change in our cities. Have Don't worry, it won't explode. And now you have to be very, very strong. Please sit down and see. "
