The Covid-19 pandemic will not have delayed the release of new generation video game consoles.
The month of November will be the occasion of a showdown between Sony and Microsoft, seven years after the simultaneous release of the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.
Microsoft will kick off the ball on November 10 with its Xbox Series.
Sony's PlayStation 5 will follow shortly, with a two-stage launch: November 12 in America, Japan and Oceania, and November 19 in Europe.
Technically, the two consoles are similar.
They promise better looking games and a smoother experience with almost no load times.
In reality, Sony and Microsoft will distinguish themselves by their strategies.
One is traditional.
The other seeks to break the codes of the sector, a reflection of Microsoft's position of outsider.
Unlike Sony, video games are by far not Microsoft's most profitable business.
This allows him to take risks.
