Net increase in Covid infections in Italy

the increase in 24 hours is 1,907 new cases,

detected with 99,839 swabs, a few thousand fewer than those carried out on Thursday.

The total number of infected people, including victims and healed, rises to 294,932.

The daily number of victims decreases slightly: it was 13 Thursday, it is 10 Friday, for a total total of 35,668 since the beginning of the emergency.

Of all the regions, only Basilicata has zero cases in the last day.

The number of cases of Covid 19 increases for the seventh week, the RT is just above 1.

There are widespread outbreaks in the country, the average age is increasing and is around 41 years. it means that there is evidently intra-family transmission, ie the virus passes from the youngest to the most elderly. This explains a certain slow but gradual increase in hospitalizations ".

This was stated by the head of the prevention department of the Ministry of Health

Gianni Rezza

commenting on the data of the latest ISS Monitoring.

In the monitoring week 7-13 September, a total of

2397 active outbreaks

were reported

of which 698 new, both increasing for the seventh consecutive week

(in the previous monitoring week 2280 active outbreaks were reported, of which 691 new), according to the weekly monitoring Iss-Ministry of Health.

This implies, it is emphasized, "an ever greater commitment of the local services in the activities of finding contacts that have so far managed to contain the local transmission of the virus".

In almost all the Regions there is an increase in the occupancy rate of dedicated beds both in the medical area and in intensive care.

At national level, the employment rate in the medical area increased from 2% to 4% compared to the period 17-30 August 2020, while the employment rate in intensive care from 1% to 2%, with values above 5% for some Regions.

This was revealed by the weekly monitoring Iss-ministry of health.

"Although, no signs of overloading of health care services have yet been identified - it says - the trend observed could be reflected in greater commitment".

In the last two weeks there has been a

"significant increase in the median age at diagnosis. This is probably due to a transmission from the younger population to the more fragile or elderly one,

especially within the family: this is reflected in a greater commitment of hospital services ".

It is therefore recommended to take "

all appropriate precautions, even in the family
