(ANSA) - BARI, 19 SEPTEMBER - "I accepted because I am sensitive to social issues and the question of democracy".

AsiaIurlo, president of the hospital seat of the Policlinico di Bari, is one of the more than two hundred people from Bari called to replace those who have renounced the appointment.

She is a 25-year-old medical student at the University of Bari and six months ago she was infected with Covid, like her whole family.

She has had experience as a scrutinizer in university elections but it will be her first time as president.

His, like the Covid section, will be set up in the transfusion center of the Policlinico.

The rules are clear: masks, gloves, spacing and sanitized pencils at each turn.

"It is very important to vote - he explains - and even hospitalized people have the right to do so, who perhaps, more than others, can understand the needs of a democracy and the need to make a choice that could also affect the ability to care".

   (HANDLE).
