Against the background of the spread of the corona virus around the world in general and in Europe in particular, the European Broadcasting Union announced today (Sunday) four scenarios that will ensure the existence of the Eurovision Song Contest next year.

As you may recall, the European singing competition, which was supposed to take place this year in the Netherlands, was canceled in March.

The first and most optimistic scenario, is the one where the competition takes place as planned at a mass event as every year.

This scenario depends mainly on the invention of the virus, its spread and reliability.

The second scenario is the holding of the show under the strictness of a distance of one and a half meters between all those present at the event.

If this scenario is implemented, the number of people in the hall where the competition will take place will be received among the ticket buyers.

The third scenario is of having the show with additional restrictions and very few audiences.

Countries that during the competition will not allow flights to the Netherlands due to Corona restrictions, will appear from their country live.

The last, most pessimistic scenario is one in which the competition takes place with no audience at all, no delegations and no activity related to the competition in Rotterdam, the city where the Eurovision is supposed to take place next year.

The decision on the chosen scenario will be made early next year.

The corporation last week released a call for the public to submit a song to the competition, to be performed by Eden Elena, who was scheduled to represent Israel this year after winning "The Next Eurovision Star," and will do so next year anyway.

At the end of the month, the Eurovision Song Contest for children is expected to take place in a format similar to the last scenario, in which no delegations and no audience participate, with each artist appearing live from his country.
