She kept a McDonald's hamburger cabinet from 1996 - and was amazed at its condition after 24 years

The science teacher left in her closet a McDonald's burger she had bought 24 years ago.

In the Tiktok video, she introduced it to her followers - and it was kept intact, just as if it had only been submitted a few hours ago.

The chain has claimed that this is the power that the chain's burgers are full of preservatives, but McDonald's denies

This month 2.4 million students returned to the school bench (then re-entered the closure) and we are sure that at least a quarter of them opened the bag on the last day of the holiday and discovered a greenish and moldy sandwich there that they forgot from last June.

A science teacher from the UK left herself an old meal in her locker and unveiled it this week at Tiktok, only that unlike our rotten sandwiches - her dish was kept like new and even looks (kind of) still stimulating.

Eli Sharb photographed her grandmother pulling a McDonald's meal out of the closet - which she purchased in 1996, 24 years ago.

In a video that garnered millions of views, the grandmother is seen taking the world's oldest McDonald's dish out of a shoebox and showing the fries and hamburger to the camera.

Believe it or not - the hamburger and fries were left almost perfectly preserved.

"Want to see my burger? It's in a box in the closet," she said in the video of the grandmother, who kept the burger as an experiment all these years.

She opened a shoebox and unveiled a crumpled McDonald's bag with an advertisement for the 1996 Nascar race.

First she shows the camera the chips, which look exactly as if they were just prepared, and says: "The pieces of chips look like they fell under your chair a month ago. They did not rot or decay."

She then introduces the hamburger when the bread and meat are completely free of mold and rot, though it is not clear where the sauce, onion and pickles have gone.

She said: "The meat never rotted. It never fell apart. It is completely intact."

She added: "This is a 24-year-old hamburger. It's just not clear what will happen if you eat it."

A U.S. spokesman for McDonald's said in a statement: "In the right environment, our burgers, like most foods, can fall apart.

However, in order to break down, certain conditions are needed - especially moisture.

Without sufficient moisture - in the food itself or in its environment - bacteria and mold may not grow and therefore decomposition is unlikely.

If the food dries sufficiently, it is unlikely that mold or bacteria will grow on it or it will disintegrate.

Food prepared at home and left to dry can achieve similar results.

Take a closer look, the burger you see is probably completely dry and in no way identical to the day it was purchased.

The reality is that our burgers are made from 100 percent quality meat.

Our patties have no preservatives or fillers and the only thing ever added to them are touches of salt and pepper on the grill. "

Dr. Donald Schafner, a food science expert at Rutgers University in New Jersey, confirmed to Fox News that McDonald's had given a" factual response " That's absolutely right. "

He says most bacteria die during preparation because McDonald's cooks its well-done burgers.

"If a hamburger is stored in the right conditions, such as in a dry place, it might have dried out but not rotted," he added.

The chips also still look delicious (screenshot, TIKTOK / @ ALY.SHERB)

This is not the first time people have uncovered antique McDonald's dishes.

Another fan named Hortor Samarson has been keeping a McDonald's burger in a glass cabinet for 11 years, which also shows no sign of mold or rot.

In 2009 McDonald's closed all three of its branches in Iceland and Samarson decided to buy the latest hamburger and fries made in the country so that the meal would “revive forever” even after the chain closed.

"I heard the meals at McDonald's are kept forever, so I just wanted to see if that was true," he said.

This is what Iceland's last McDonald's looks like - 10 years after:
