Between confinement and the development of teleworking, one would have thought that the home employment sector would be devastated.
However, it is resisting the crisis rather well, according to the latest figures from the Federation of Individual Employers (Fepem).
During confinement, 51% of home workers temporarily interrupted their activity, while 23% continued as before, 21% simply reduced their number of hours and 3% worked more than before, indicates a survey carried out by Ipsos for the federation.
Because of the parents' presence in the home, it is above all the child minders who have stopped or reduced their activity, while the carers for the elderly continued.
When their employee was arrested, 30% of individual employers continued to pay it out of pocket and 62% used the compensation system put in place by the public authorities, with the State taking responsibility for 80% of the net salary. .
