Giansanti recalls that due to the health emergency in the US, farmers have already received direct support for 16 billion dollars, to which 3 billion have been added for the purchase on the market of products to be used for internal food aid.
"The support provided by the European Union is too low - notes the president - considering that the consequences of the pandemic will not be limited in time. In fact, the reduction in consumption in the HoReCa channel continues, slowing the recovery of deliveries and quotations. situation requires the launch of additional interventions also at European level ".
Finally, Giansanti points out that in the United States some production sectors are benefiting from the recovery of exports on the Chinese market, as part of the implementation of the new bilateral trade agreement signed in January.
Last week, for example, the State Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced the sale of 262,000 tons of soybeans to China, with prices reaching their highest level in more than two years.
