Professor Gimzo received a review from the hospital's director, Dr. Anat Engel, heard about the hospital's response to the epidemic, talked to the medical staff and heard about the treatment methods and daily challenges of the struggle in Corona.

"The level of treatment we see here, as in the other hospitals in the country, is world-class, with the same department treating both mild, medium and difficult patients," said Prof. Gamzo.

"Respirators are also treated in the intensive care units and there is also the ability to treat the Acme devices here, and that gives me confidence. It is already clear to everyone that the number of patients in Israel in the next two or three weeks will double, and the hospitals are currently preparing. If there is no drastic reduction in morbidity we will soon "1,200 critically ill patients a day."

Dr. Anat Engel said: “Alongside providing the most professional medical care, our role is also to provide a sense of security and control to the general public, so it is important that the public knows that we are prepared.

We are prepared to provide care to patients who are hospitalized with us, we are prepared to accept the patients who are still expected to arrive and we will do everything to address all the challenges that are still right for us. "

The Ministry of Health said that the number of people infected in Corona in the last day is 2,567 people.

Also, 9 people have died since midnight.

There has been a slight decrease in the number of respirators, and there are now 169. The number of seriously ill patients continues to climb, and now 653 are hospitalized in this condition.

Paramedics will reinforce the hospitals

The Ministry of Health stated that in a discussion held today, chaired by the director general of the ministry, Prof. Hezi Levy, instructions were given to accept paramedics to reinforce the hospitals. There are more than 3,200 paramedics in Israel, including 300 who have already announced in the first wave that they are ready to volunteer to reinforce the hospitals.

"The process of absorbing paramedics in hospitals has been lengthened due to various and strange bureaucratic barriers and to this day has not been implemented," wrote David Yelink, chairman of the Paramedics Association, in her address to the director general of the Ministry of Health, Prof. Hezi Levy.

It should be noted that paramedics have the knowledge and authority in a field outline to also engage in the actions of the soul of the sick and they treat the wounded and sick both routinely - in MDA and emergency medical bodies and within the IDF.

They specialized in intensive care, resuscitation and anesthesia of patients in severe field conditions.

"Just as the medical corps you commanded knows how to recruit and operate many hundreds of paramedics in time of war, so the Ministry of Health can and should provide hospitals with the professional and necessary manpower to deal with the 'war' on the corona virus," Yelink told the health ministry.
