A volcano in Ecuador spewed ash over much of the country.
In six of the 24 provinces of the South American state, according to the authorities, ash rain fell from the Sangay volcano over the weekend.
The international terminal at the airport in the metropolis of Guayaquil had to be temporarily closed on Sunday.
President Lenín Moreno announced the deployment of emergency teams to help farmers and ranchers clean up the ashes.
According to the emergency authority SNGRE, columns of gas and ash have been observed on the Sangay in the past few weeks, which rose to heights of between 800 and 2000 meters above the summit.
Photos show the work of the helpers in the region.
They distributed so-called volcano kits to the population - including masks against the polluted air.
Located about 200 kilometers south of the capital Quito and 5230 meters high, Sangay is one of several active volcanoes in the Andean state of Ecuador.
The Sangay's eruptive activity has intensified over the past two decades.
