Apolda: Man stores explosives in the oven - house evacuated

A 38-year-old was storing highly explosive material on several baking trays. The police evacuated the house after hearing a witness.


A 38-year-old has stored explosives on a tray in the oven of his apartment.

According to the police, the apartment building in Apolda, Thuringia, was evacuated after special forces and a sniffer dog found the material.

The incident took place on Monday.

As the "MDR" reported, the substance was about 60 grams of highly explosive triacetone triperoxide.

The man was in a psychiatric facility at the time of the assignment.

According to the MDR, a complaint was made against him, he was therefore already known to the police for other offenses.

According to the police, the explosives were destroyed in a controlled manner outdoors.
